6) bread bag, storage of personal items such as sewing kits and food and shaving kits
7) Water Bottle, storage of water (not allways used)

The German Army Marched With Pride With Quality Leather Jackboots, Often Studded Underneath For Parade Use. These generally lasted a long time and suited most conditions wether it was snow or sun they were issued in thousands along the front lines. Unlike the German officer longer boots issued and expected to be maintained to a very high standard these boots are possibly the greatest piece of kit to maintain the soldiers ability to fight on the frontline.
The 17th luftwaffe used a variety of uniforms throughout their service during the war. Most of their uniform and kit was passed down from the German wehrmacht to the Luftwaffe. Unfortunately some of the uniforms were from soldiers who were killed or injured and their uniforms collected. They used the green and blue trousers and tunics along with their own splinter patter smocks.
They were often also seen roaming around in SS pattern camouflage smocks when supplies were very low. As they were classed as a "2nd class soldier" being primarily made up of older generation males and younger teens along with administration personnelle they were given the very basics to serve their time with.
